The schools, which were destroyed in Yalova/Türkiye after the 1999 earthquake, not only rebuilt the physical structures, but also came back to life as a symbol of hope and normalization for the children in the region. This reconstruction process has been a critical step in terms of implementing safer building standards and looking at the future in a more resilient way.
